The Future Perfect tense is used to describe actions that will be completed before a specific point in the future. It focuses on the completion of an action at a certain time in the future.

Form of the Future Perfect:

When Do We Use the Future Perfect?

  1. Actions completed before a certain point in the future: We use the Future Perfect to describe actions that will be completed before a specified time in the future.
    • By next week, I will have finished the project.
  2. Predictions about completion: The Future Perfect is used to predict that something will be completed before a future time.
    • By the time you arrive, we will have left.
  3. Plans and expectations: It can be used to describe plans or expectations for completion in the future.
    • By 2025, they will have built a new school.

  • By tomorrow, I will have completed the report. (positive)
  • She won’t have finished her homework by 6 PM. (negative)
